Itinerary

Day 1 here We will start the Tambopta adventure

After your arrival in the morning to Puerto Maldonado, you will be met by our guide and taken to our office. Where you will leave your luggage that are not necessary for the trip. Tours in Tambopata, we will start at 10:00 a.m. from our Agency or we can go to pick you up from your hotel, we will have 2 hours of travel in a 4X4 truck, the first part will be on a paved road and the second part will be on a dirt road until you reach the Tambopata river near the limit of the reservation. Our boat will be waiting for us to take us to our Lodge, “HACIENDA TAMBOPATA”, once we arrive at the hostel, a welcome drink awaits us and the manager will explain everything we need to know about our hostel and its surroundings. After lunch we will make an introduction walk in a secondary forest and then in a primary forest full of huge trees and vines and vines, at the same time we will talk about the most important economic activities in this region. The possibilities of detecting some black capuchin monkeys and squirrel monkeys etc. When it gets dark we will return to our lodge to look for our flashlight and go to our boat and do one of the most exciting activities a night walk in the forest, exploring and discovering the mysteries of the jungle at night.

Day 2 A multicolored live and direct Macaw Concert - Caiman Spotting

We will wake up around 5:00 a.m., drink hot drinks to get some energy and navigate upstream Tambopata for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Crossing the checkpoint. We will have all the sunrise just for us in the boat, and we will have very good chances of seeing shorebirds, capybaras, white alligators, and why not mention … a jaguar or an anaconda, I like to say it, we have a 20% chance of seeing to one of these guys by the river. At the end of this activity, on our way down the river to our Lodge, Then we will have our lunch and then we will start our way back to Puerto Maldonado, first 5 minutes upriver by boat and then 2 hours in 4 × 4 and then with the Relevant permission to enter the Tambopata reserve, will transfer us to a local port, where a 45-minute navigation will take us aboard a 45-minute navigation down the Madre de Dios river, tributary of the Amazon, Once we reach the Sandoval port , we will make a walk of 1 hour and a half through the tropical forest, and we will make a stop at the checkpoint for check-in and the guide will explain the importance of the place to visit. As we move forward the forest is changing from secondary to primary forest once we arrive at the Sandoval port, where there we will take a small paddle canoe to take us through a channel to the Sandoval lake to our Lodge, where they will be given to their respective rooms, after a short rest we will do our first activity by boat to enjoy a spectacular sunset where we can observe in its splendor the fauna among them the night monkeys and bats and then go to enjoy our dinner and rest.

Day 3 Lake Sandoval - Search for Giant Otters - Night Walk

After our breakfast at dawn we will board a boat to go in search of the appreciated giant otters and we can observe from very close since they are accustomed to observe them, ensuring a good photographic view and we can also observe different species of multicolored birds and then we will do a walk of 4 km. to see the giant trees of 500 or 800 years of age where we can know a lot about the medicinal plants that are usually used by the native people of the area. We will return for our lunch and in the afternoon we will go to take a relaxing break and then to go swimming with our guide. We will return to the Lodge to change and take our boat to the adventure in search of the black alligators and observe a spectacular sunset and at the same time enjoy the songs of the birds and other animals and observe the 5 species of monkeys that are found at edge of the lake like the howler monkey that is usually found in the tallest trees taking a break, while the monks friars, black machines and stumps that are seen very closely and can be seen when they go in search of a tree to spend the night and we will be able to observe the famous ARAPAIMA (or) PAICHE that in sunset hours they usually go to the surface of the lake to take the air and produce a great rumble with their great fins. In the night after dinner, we will do a night walk to meet a wide variety of insects, tarantulas and with good luck we can observe anacondas.

Day 4 Sandoval Lake Return to Puerto Maldonado and the airport / Terrestrial Terminal

We will get up very early (5:00 am to take our last adventure around the lake in search of the giant otter and in search of a greater diversity of flora and fauna that inhabit the majestic Sandoval lake we will take advantage of the last ride to Capture unforgettable moments on our tour, then return to the hotel for breakfast and finally we will take our boat for about 20 minutes and walk back 3 km on the same way back to the Madre de Dios River trip to the city of Puerto Maldonado.
